Prescription Collection and Delivery

Barkerhouse Pharmacy collect & deliver your NHS prescription for free

As a Barkerhouse Pharmacy customer with regular medication needs, if you find your time is at a premium why don’t you ask our Pharmacy staff to register you for our free Repeat Prescription Collection Service.

The service we provide is easy to set up – you authorise us to collect your prescription from your Doctor on your behalf, so that we can get your medication prepared and waiting for you whenever you visit the Pharmacy.

Once the service is set up there are three easy steps to take:

1. Order your prescription from your Doctor or Health Centre and advise them that it will be collected by Barkerhouse Pharmacy.

2. Phone the Pharmacy and let them know you have a prescription to be collected. We’ll advise you when it will be ready.

3. We collect and make up your prescription – it’s as simple as that!

How our repeat prescription delivery service works

Prescription delivery services are helpful if you’re somebody who regularly relies on repeat prescription medication, living with a long-term illness or disability, or you care for someone who does. Although NHS prescriptions are usually affordable (and sometimes even free), the process of collecting a prescription, taking it into your pharmacy and paying on a regular basis can be time-consuming.

Barkerhouse Pharmacy can help take some of the weight off your shoulders with our repeat prescription delivery service. Patients using repeat prescriptions can sign up and their medication will be delivered to their home, whenever they need it.

The first step to apply for the repeat prescription delivery with Barkerhouse Pharmacy is to get in touch with the Pharmacy and provide us your patient details, including the name of your GP surgery and which repeat prescriptions you are using. You’ll also provide us with your bank account details, so that we can easily take payment for your prescriptions, if you pay for them, and only when they have been despatched.

The second step is for our team to contact your GP surgery and obtain your repeat prescription. Once we have your prescription and your patient details, we can get ready to send out your medications when you need them.

The final step is your free delivery on medicines. Before delivery you will receive confirmation that your prescription has been processed and if you pay for your medication, we will take payment from your account when your medication is despatched.

How much does the delivery service cost?

The Barkerhouse Pharmacy repeat prescription delivery service is completely free. We do not charge you an administrative fee or for delivery. However, you will still have to pay for your prescription items as usual.
